Wfmw ~ A gazillion free crafts

WFMWpink

A friend of mine just introduced me to this incredible site with tons and tons of free craft ideas ~ all the way from crochet, jewelry making, home decor, sewing and lots more.

Sign up for their free newsletter, too.  I’m so excited!

Here are just a few of their cutesy projects..

Birdie Baby Blanket ~ my soon to be butterfly needs a pink one.  Cute!

Christmas Star Afghan ~ so pretty!  I wish I knew how to knit.

Easy Washcloths ~ These would be so pretty for a guest bathroom.

For me WFMW click here.

Ice Cream Cone Dishcloth

I made this today…  It is so adorable.  I am thinking of making these as little birthday gifts for my friends.  The picture doesn’t do this cute little sucker any justice.  The ice cream looks disproportional compared to the cone, but in real life it’s just as cute as can be.

simple-woman-daybook-large

April 27, 2009…

Outside my window…
is gloomy, thundering, and the heavens are mad at something

I am thinking…
about how much fun I am going to have tonight hanging out with friends while painting ceramics

I am thankful for…
my wonderful family and the opportunity to be a wife and mommy to my 5 blessings

From the learning rooms…
we are studying the Civil War

From the kitchen…
grinding wheat, making bread, meatloaf in the crock pot with mashed potatoes

I am wearing…
my pj’s, and my suffy leopard print slippers

I am creating…
an adorable apron that I am almost finish and started on a baby afghan for my new niece who should be appearing shortly in this world

I am going…
to paint ceramics, attend our small group, and participate in my monthly book club this week

I am reading…
I just finished reading When the Enemy Strikes by Charles Stanley last night for my book club

I am praying…
that God’s will give us direction, guidance, and discernment in our lives and help me deal with any chances that are going to pop into our lives.  I hate change!

I am hearing…
the soft sound of the computer.  The boys are still sleeping

Around the house…
we are getting the house ready inside to put on the market in two weeks, laundry, and organizing

One of my favorite things…
is to hear my small children sing to their favorite CD at lunch time.

Few plans this week is….to paint ceramics, attend our small group, and participate in my monthly book club this week

WFMW ~ Lent Season

wfmwsmall I have always wanted my children to really understand the true meaning of Easter, but time always seems to slip by and it’s Easter Sunday and my children are eating all those healthy chocolate Easter bunnies.  This is year I decided to make this Lent season a true spiritual memory for all of us.  I came across this free Lent activities a few days ago.  It has lots of creative and meaningful activities to do as a family during the 40 days of Lent.  Very simple and not burdensome.

Also, I plan on putting together an Easter Unit Study or Lapbook by implementing some of these links….

Snowman sculpture

snowman10

I found this adorable project that we will do early next week.  I found it here.

How to Make Snowman Sculptures

MATERIALS:

2 cups Ivory Snow detergent
1/2 cup water

Things for your snowman
Toothpicks, popsicle sticks or small sticks, buttons, felt scraps, small beads, yarn, pipe cleaners.

Make your “snow” by mixing the Ivory snow with the water and beating it with a hand mixer until the consistency of dough.

Immediately shape into 3 snowman shape balls. The head a litle smaller than the middle, etc.. You can use toothpicks to hold the balls together as you stack them on top each other.

Now add your arms and eyes. Use twigs or popsicle sticks for arms, buttons or small beads for eyes. Make a scarf out of felt scraps or crochet a yarn chain. We used pompoms and pipepcleaners to make earmuffs. A orange pipe cleaner cut and folded into a small triangle was our nose.

These look cute on a stand or mantle.

My latest projects..
