I woke up this morning not feeling so hot. I felt achy when I went to bed last night. I reminded myself that I must start eating mainly whole foods and taking my herbs faithfully. When I start to feel good, for some reason, I become lazy and stop eating properly and stop taking my herb supplements. Also, Zeke E Boy woke up with fever. So, it’s probably a combination of the two ~ eating unhealthy and a touch of the bug. This song cried out to me today.
God’s Word is so comforting, soothing, and so real. I felt Him so close to me when I was meditating on His Words last night during our Family devotion.
Dear Heavenly Father:
I thank you for your inspiring Word to strengthen me and give me courage to fight this secular world. Thank you for your Holy Spirit dwelling in my heart.
Blessed Is the One Who Finds Wisdom
13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom,
and the one who gets understanding,
14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver
and her profit better than gold.
15 She is more precious than jewels,
and nothing you desire can compare with her.
16 Long life is in her right hand;
in her left hand are riches and honor.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her;
those who hold her fast are called blessed.
Just last night I was whining or complaining in my subtle manipulating way that I wish we had more money. And yet I teach my children that wisdom from the Lord is far more valuable than any Wii or skateboard. I must practice what I preach. I have been blessed beyond measures with wisdom from God’s Word. Why is this so hard for us to acknowledge or believe? It’s so clear in His Word.
Dear Heavenly Father:
Please guide me today and every other day you grant me here on your Earth. Please allow me to be content with what you bless me with. Your Word is a gift to me. May I continue to grow in wisdom and understanding. Please give me true faith and peace in believing that knowledge from you is far more greater than any silver or gold measured in this secular world. Thank you for always, always providing for me and my family.
We are trying to live a much simpler life in 2009. I thought this scripture would encourage me to remember truly where my my treasure awaits. Materialism and secularism treasures don’t quite fit into God’s Word. Just a little something to ponder on during this New Year.
I found this last year, but I forgot about it! Enjoy a gazillion recipes from Mrs. Claus.
It’s never too late to bake!
I’m on a bloggy vacation unti Jan 2nd. Enjoy your time with your family. Merry Christmas and blessings in 2009 to your family from mine.
I leave you with the Christmas Tale where you decide the ending….
The birth of Jesus
And the finale is yours to decide…..
Rejoice that we get to pick the finale of the true Christmas Tale.
The birthday boy always wakes up to a birthday cake of choice on his special day. We all eat birthday cake for breakfast! YUMMY! This has always been a fun tradition in our home that the boys look forward to each year.
We love to celebrate Christ’s special day, too. We have birthday cake and all the works for breakfast each Christmas morning. It helps us focus on the true meaning of Christmas.
I found this special Jesus cake suggestion here.
